Why Hire An SEO And AdWords Consultant In Connecticut, NYC Or Boston?

The person you speak with who explains the benefits of the agency is a sales person and not the same person who will work on your website.

Agency techs are typically lower level, recent college grads, do not have much real world experience optimizing SEO, Local, or AdWords. I am a consultant with over 14 years of real world digital marketing experience.

Hiring an agency to manage AdWords account typically means the agency collect as a fee 6-10% of your monthly spend so there is zero incentive to look for opportunities to save you money.

Agencies will set-up and account and just “let it run.” This means they perform no optimization of keyword match types and usually just use a broad match instead of a broad modified, phrase or exact matches. A broad match keyword is the worst type of match and get very expensive with virtual no targeting.

Agencies do not invest time to create bid modifiers such as raise your bid 20% for mobile users which in 2019 are better converters. Agencies do not have the time or incentive to focus on your PPC. The only time take actions is if you call and complain. Only then will the look at your account and hastily add broad keywords or create one or two additional ads.

I know this because AdWords has a change log which documents any action performed in the account with a time and date stamp. I have many former agency clients and can look at the change there are zero changes for month and changes can be associate with a client phone call.

 

 

Agencies use year long contract which lock you in unless you pay a large cancellation fee. Agencies do not make money working on your account. They make money by getting more clients and hire the best sales people.

When I consult I do have no long-term and locked in contract. I only require an up front 10-hour retainer. You pay as you go. $60/hour. Organic SEO for Google has become a science. There are proven technique that absolutely work.

Depending on previous SEO efforts it may take 4-6 months to rank higher for your main keywords as well as a broad range of related long tail keywords. So after a month or so that it’ll take me to optimize you may to pause to see the results of my efforts. That is just the way SEO works.
